Seattle Sounders FC 2 are going down to Northern California in need of a win. S2 have lost 4 of their last 5 and sit dangerously close to the red line. The team’s poor form is somewhat understandable, having had their best players taken by various other competitions in the last month, but they need a result tonight to stop what could become a significant confidence leak. Fortunately, it looks likely that S2’s stellar defensive block should be reunited for the first time in weeks, with Rodrigue Ele, Sam Rogers, Fransisco Narbón and Ray Saari all available tonight. The combined passing ability of those four is key to S2’s success and we should see a much more fluid transfer from defense to offense against Sacramento Republic FC.
This will be the third and final time S2 come up against Republic this season. The two previous meeting were a 2-1 Republic win and a 2-2 draw. Both were in Tukwila so this is the first time this year S2 will face Republic in enemy territory. This will not be an easy game for S2, Republic have been rising up the standings as S2 fell, but they should have enough quality back in the lineup to earn a win in Sacramento.

Keys to the Game:
- Build patiently from the back.
- Republic struggles against the high press, so put them under pressure.
- Crash the box when Renken gets in behind down the sideline
