Despite two losses and a tie in their last three matches, Seattle Sounders FC 2 have actually been playing quite well. If they play like they did against Reno last week, the team will almost certainly beat Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
S2 should put out the same backline in consecutive games for the first time in months. Ulysse-Rogers-Ele-Whyte were very successful at shutting down a powerful Reno offense last week, and they should only continue to improve. S2 have missed Irvin Parra since he left, and they need someone else to step up and assert themselves out wide.
Colorado Springs currently occupy the last playoff spot. Realistically, that last spot is the only way into the playoffs, and Colorado Springs and S2 are just two of four teams who are all fighting for it. Luckily the other three teams have been struggling along with S2. If S2 can win tonight, they will be within 1 point of the playoffs, and while they won’t have their fate in their own hands, their chances will rise considerably.
