Seattle Sounders 2 vs Rio Grande Valley FC: live stream, game time, and lineups

S2 look to end a tough week on a better note at Cheney Stadium

I’m not going to lie to you, sometimes watching and supporting Seattle Sounders FC 2 every week can be a bit of a slog, and this past week has been about the sloggiest. It’s important to remember #TheFuture is not a short term play; the coaches and the players know this, and hopefully they will be able to take what they have learned and continue improving. That being said, mixing in some successes and wins is also an important part of development and they have a good chance to achieve that this evening against Rio Grande Valley FC. We should see a return of a lot of S2’s top players, and as we saw on Wednesday at Cheney, the pitch will be pristine.

S2 will need to keep their effort and concentration up for the full 90 minutes and if so they have the talent to dispatch RGV FC and get the season headed back in a positive direction. They will need to put aside the results of the past two games and take advantage of a Toros side still looking for their first victory of the season.

For those unable to make it to Tacoma this will be the first S2 match that won’t be available for free on YouTube. Time is not completely up though, ESPN+ is currently offering a free 30-day trial. You will need a credit/debit card to sign up for it unfortunately, but if you have access to one I suggest giving it a try. At the worst you get another month of watching S2 for (relatively) free and maybe you will find the monthly fee worth it to see the 4ish S2 games every month. Remember to set a reminder for yourself so you can cancel the plan before they charge you if you find it unsatisfactory.

Keys to the Game:

  • Balance the attack with some quality crosses.
  • Make attacking support runs earlier.
