Coming off of a much needed bye week, Seattle Sounders 2 look to get the train back on the rails against LA Galaxy II. S2 had their most disjointed performance of the year last time out against Las Vegas Lights. While results aren’t very important for the Sounders’ developmental side they do need to have more coherent performances than they did in Vegas if the players are to learn and improve during their time in USL. At Los Dos is a good place for S2 to get things going in the right direction. They are one of the few teams S2 have a winning record against and the only place besides Portland that S2 have consistently gotten away results. That said, Los Dos are a little bit better team this season. Their defense is still shaky but their offense, while inconsistent, can be extremely dangerous. They have scored 6 or more goals twice already this season. S2 have a decent chance to win this game but if they don’t keep their heads Los Dos could also blow them out.
The players to watch for Los Dos are both attacking players. Ethan Zubak leads the team in both goals and chance created. He is the one S2 will need to slow down to limit the Los Dos attack. He is the one cynical teams could foul out of the game and have success against Los Dos. The other scary player on Los Dos is 16-year-old Efrain Alvarez. He has played in just 6 matches for Los Dos this year, but in those 6 he has scored 6 goals on just 9 shots. S2 will have to keep an eye on him for the whole match because he has proven that he can score from just about anywhere on the field. If S2 can contain those two they should be able to get a result in Carson.
