Seattle Sounders 2 at Oklahoma City Energy: live stream, game time, and lineups

S2 face one of the few teams they have a winning record against.

Seattle Sounders 2 is about as far east has they travel in the regular season to face Oklahoma City Energy FC, one of the few teams S2 has a winning record against (3-2-2 +1). All of those wins came at Starfire or Cheney though and S2 boasts a less impressive 0-2-1 -3 in Oklahoma City. Still, with a victory against OKC already under their belts this season, this might be one of S2’s best remaining chances to achieve an elusive road win this season. That will obviously depend somewhat on what kind of lineup the Sounders send east, but the team as a whole already knows how to beat this OKC side so it should at least be interesting.

S2 will need to bring their best defensively to get said result though, as the OKC offense has lit fire in recent weeks, scoring 4, 3, and 3 in their last three matches. Two of those were against competition outside of the playoff picture but one was against the always impressive Real Monarchs. S2 will need to focus on stopping OKC’s two most potent attackers, Christian Volesky, who has 9 goals on the season, and Hugh Alexander Dixon who has 8 goals and 4 assists so far this year. If S2 can keep track of those two in the box while denying service from OKC’s third attacking midfielder José Barril, who, with 41 key passes, leads OKC by almost double in that category, they should have a decent chance to best a team which has shown weakness along the backline.

This would be a perfect game for Ray Saari to make his return and play as a six to disrupt what has become a potent OKC band of three. If he is not ready to go it will be up to one of the newcomers or an Academy kid to slot in there and show they can unsettle a midfield that is clicking at the moment.
