Seattle Sounders 2 were able to continue their home unbeaten streak against one of the Western Conference’s best teams. Tonight, they have a much easier task as they face off against the Conference’s worst team, the Tulsa Roughnecks. Tulsa are the only team below S2 in the standings and have not seen anything like the recent improvement that S2 have. If S2 can beat Tulsa, they will have gotten five straight results at home, something they haven’t done in over two. S2 is starting to make Cheney their own, hopefully that continues on this weeknight.
All that said, Tulsa is going to come ready to play. They will see this as perhaps their best shot at getting their first road win this season. If Tulsa can truly believe that they can beat S2, Cheney could see a much better Tulsa side than the rest of the league has seen. S2 will need to bring their best to beat a hopeful Tulsa side. The defensive task for S2 should be fairly easy. If they can stop Joaquin Rivas and Paris Gee, Tulsa will have little chance to put the ball in the back of the net. If S2 can avoid any serious goalkeeper mistakes, they should be able to keep Tulsa from scoring, and thus should have an easy path to a draw and a good chance at all three points.
