The Tacoma Defiance are having a rough go of it at the moment. They have yet to earn a point on the road and have lost their last three matches, 4-0, 5-0 and 4-0. They will be hoping to at least manage a less gaudy scoreline against them when they visit San Antonio FC tonight. San Antonio score a lot, but also let in a lot of goals, so we could be looking at a high-scoring game if Tacoma’s attack can do its part, or another blowout if they cannot.
Luckily the Defiance might be getting some reinforcements thanks to the possible return of the history-making Sounders Academy U-17 players, who spent the last 3 weeks winning and celebrating the GA Cup. We could also see Sam Rogers’ first start of the season, though he didn’t make the bench last week after making a sub appearance against Las Vegas, so there are still some questions about his injury situation.
Tacoma do not need to win tonight, but they do need to staunch the flow of 4- and 5-goal losses if they want to improve the current narrative around the team.
