Although neither player started, Danny Leyva and Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez both managed to get onto the scoresheet as the United States U17 team dispatched Guatemala 3-0 on Monday and secure the top spot in their World Cup qualifying group.
In the 86th minute, Leyva picked off an attempted clearance and immediately dribbled into the attack. He worked a give-and-go with Gilbert Fuentes, then created some space with a nice cutback before sending in a cross. Ocampo-Chavez was able to beat his man to the header.

It was Leyva’s first assist in the tournament and his first assist at the U17 level. He’s currently the youngest player on the USA roster. This was Ocampo-Chavez’s second goal of the tournament and his seventh at this level.
The United States next plays Guadeloupe on Thursday in the Round of 16.
