Tacoma Defiance vs Orange County SC: live stream, game time, and lineups

Defiance need to find some finishing if they want to win tonight.

Tonight the Tacoma Defiance wrap up a three-match home stand. If they can beat Orange County SC they will go an impressive 2-1-0 over the three games. Historically the Defiance have struggled against OCSC — their record against the southern California team is 1-6-1 -10. They do have one win against them in Washington back in their Starfire days, which should give Tacoma hope that they can get their first win against Orange County at Cheney Stadium.

Orange County are a side that oscillates wildly between good and bad each season; this season they are somewhere closer to bad. They enter tonight in 14th place in the USL Championship Western Conference, though they are underperforming their goal difference a bit and sit just 2 points out of playoff position. Their star attacker is former Sounders and S2 player Darwin Jones — who, after a few years in the wilderness, is resurgent out on the wing and has 8 goals on the season. Orange County don’t really have a string-puller. They thrive off of more direct play and the creativity they do show is done by committee.

The Defiance may have trouble dealing with Orange County’s speed. Tacoma’s backline is in flux with Sam Rogers potentially leaving for Belgium soon and Jonathan Campbell taking a larger role with the first team due to Román Torres’ suspension. It is tough to know who will start at centerback — the most likely pairing is Aleks Berkolds and new signing Jesús Rubio. That pair have never started together and will need to get on the same page quickly if the Defiance hope to earn their fourth home win of the season.
