Defiance just Ocean’s 11-ed Los Dos

Tacoma steals a road point behind an epic AB Cissoko penalty kick.

A pragmatic Tacoma Defiance side came out looking to use counter attacks to try to steal points on the road at Los Dos. There were a handful of times where the younger side looked like they might do it.

But as the match lengthened, LA Galaxy II’s stronger possession looked like it would run the show. Jorge Hernandez put them up on a brilliant free kick. Stefan Cleveland’s paw touched the shot, but Hernandez had plenty of power on his 19 yarder. Los Dos took a 1-nil lead at 78’.

Some would lose hope.

They’d be wrong. There’s always hope when Abdoulaye Cissoko is around to put away penalties.

Defiance earned the penalty shout off a corner. A threatening ball that targeted Cissoko bounced around in the box. G2 couldn’t avoid it.

Then they couldn’t stop the centerback from slotting home perfection.

Heist executed. Tacoma returns to Cheney Stadium on May 13 for a 7 PM match against San Deigo Loyal.
