Five Seattle Reign FC players have been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for two January friendlies, leading all clubs to open the 2026 international calendar. Defender Jordyn Bugg, forward Maddie Dahlien, goalkeeper Claudia Dickey, and midfielders Sally Menti and Sam Meza were selected to the 26-player squad that will train in California and compete in friendlies against Paraguay and Chile.
While Bugg, Dickey, and Meza all made their senior USWNT debuts in 2025, this camp marks the first senior national team call-ups for Dahlien and Menti.
Dahlien featured extensively with the U.S. U-23 team in 2025 and had a breakout rookie season with Seattle. She appeared in all 26 regular-season matches and was an NWSL Rookie of the Year finalist after scoring four goals and earning a team-high four assists. Her blazing speed on the left wing caused problems all season for opponents. Dahlien is currently signed with the Reign through the 2027 season.
Menti, who entered the 2025 preseason still recovering from an injury in college, joined the Reign initially on a short-term contract. After making an immediate impact, including scoring a goal in her first start, Menti signed a multi-year deal with the Reign, keeping her at the club through 2027, with a mutual option for 2028. Menti, who grew up in Seattle, finished the season with one goal and one assist. She can play as a box-to-box or attacking midfielder.
Dickey earned six caps in 2025 with the USWNT, starting the final four matches of the year. She was a Goalkeeper of the Year finalist for the NWSL, finishing the season with a league-leading 88 saves. Dickey is signed with the Reign through 2028 and has quickly moved up USWNT coach Emma Hayes’ depth chart.
Emma Hayes indicates that Claudia Dickey and Phallon Tullis-Joyce are the top two goalkeepers on the #USWNT depth chart, though she doesn't really put either at No. 1.

Bugg, who will be the only teenager in training camp, earned five USWNT caps in 2025 after making her debut in the summer. At just 19 years old, Bugg was named a finalist for NWSL Defender of the Year and was nominated for U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Player of the Year, with the winner yet to be announced. She is signed with the Reign through 2027.
Meza extended her contract with the Reign last year, keeping her at the club through 2028. She also earned her first senior national team cap in 2025, featuring in two matches. She had to decline a call-up last October due to some hamstring tightness at the end of the NWSL season. A tenacious defensive midfielder who can also play higher up the field, Meza appeared in all 26 NWSL regular-season matches and finished the year with a league-leading 106 tackles.
These January camp call-ups signify a strong future for the next generation of Seattle Reign players. Goalkeeper Dickey just turned 26, and the four field players are under 25. All five players have signed contracts with the Reign through at least 2027. They all have the potential to continue finding significant success with club and country.
Notably, because these games are occurring outside of a FIFA international window, no European-based players whose clubs are currently in season, such as Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Lindsey Heaps, have been called in. Similarly, Gotham FC will be competing in the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup at the end of January so their players were also excluded from any call-ups.
The USWNT will face Paraguay in Carson, CA on Jan. 24 at 2:30 p.m. PT on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max in English, Universo and Peacock in Spanish, and Westwood One radio in English and Futbol de Primera radio in Spanish. Their match against Chile in Santa Barbara, CA, on Jan. 27 will kick off at 7 p.m. PT and air on TBS and HBO Max in English, Universo and Peacock in Spanish, and on the radio in English on Westwood One and in Spanish on Futbol de Primera.
The Reign will kick off their preseason training toward the end of January, with specific plans yet to be announced. They will spend some time in Southern California, as they return to the Coachella Valley Invitational, where they will face Angel City on Feb. 21.
