Nouhou, Alex Roldan and Raúl Ruidíaz have all been called into their respective national teams for the upcoming FIFA window. None of them should miss any Seattle Sounders matches as a result. Tacoma Defiance players Stuart Hawkins and Antonio Herrera were also called up to their youth national teams.

Nouhou will join Cameroon for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi on Sept. 12 in Cameroon. Nouhou has established himself as a regular starter at left back for the Indomitable Lions, including three starts at the most recent World Cup. Most notably he helped them upset Brazil in their final group stage game.

Roldan will be with El Salvador, who are participating in Concacaf Nations League. They play on the road against Guatemala on Sept. 7 and host Trinidad & Tobago on Sept. 10.

Ruidíaz is probably the most surprising of the call-ups given his recent form. Prior to scoring against the Portland Timbers on Saturday, he had gone 740 minutes without a goal. Peru plays at Paraguay on Sept. 7 and hosts Brazil on Sept. 12 in a pair of World Cup qualifiers.

Hawkins is going to be with the USA U17 team at the Vaclav Jezek tournament in Czechia as they prepare for their World Cup that runs Nov. 10-Dec. 2. They will play Switzerland on Wednesday and Czechia on Sept. 8.

Herrera is with Mexico’s U18 team as they prepare for the 2023 Slovenia Nations Cup. They’ll play Saudi Arabia on Sept. 6, Slovenia on Sept. 9 and Portugal on Sept. 12.

The Sounders next play FC Dallas on Sept. 16.
