The Seattle Sounders will renew what has so far been one of the most lopsided rivalries in MLS history. In 16 all-time meetings across three competitions, the Sounders hold a 14-1-2 advantage that includes a 10-0-0 record at Lumen Field.
This Minnesota team looks to be a bit more dangerous, however. They currently sit third in the Western Conference and have a +9 goal-difference that is tied for second best in the conference.
The Sounders are one of the hottest teams in MLS, though, with 20 points in their last nine matches. They are also one of the top home teams in the league, with a 5-0-2 record that equates to a league-best 2.43 points per game.
Notes
- This will be the first time the Sounders have been featured on Sunday Night Soccer, the league's showcase weekly game.
- The Sounders are one of only two teams in MLS without a home loss in league play this year.
- Jesús Ferreira scored his 54th career goal on Wednesday. Only Landon Donovan (56) has more goals before turning 25.
