Missing several of their normal starters, the Tacoma Defiance still managed to snap their losing streak to get a 1-1 tie with Minnesota United 2 and add on an extra point after winning the penalty shootout on Saturday.

The Defiance got a late equalizer from Demian Alvarez, who was making just his second appearance of the season. Alvarez then converted the clinching penalty in the shootout.

Jacob Castro had a solid bounceback game in goal, making seven saves in regulation and two more in the shootout.
