Over the last few years, MLS has started to become a bit more transparent with how rosters are constructed. One of the most useful pieces of data is the “Club Roster Profiles” which are updated at least twice a year. The first update of 2026 was released on Friday and actually broke a bit of news for the Seattle Sounders.

While Sounder at Heart had independently reported that both Alex Roldan and Nouhou have signed extensions, neither has been officially announced by the club. The initial roster profile release confirmed that news, along with the lengths of those deals – stretching through the 2028-29 seasons with one additional option year on both.
Even more newsworthy was the revelation that Danny Musovski has signed an extension through 2027-28 with an option year. Musovski was due to be out of contract at the end of 2026. (Notably, all of this was quickly scrubbed from the roster profile page after its initial release, but Sounder at Heart has independently verified the information.)
That leaves Yeimar Gomez Andrade and Kim Kee-hee as the only players who are due to be out of contract at the end of 2026. Albert Rusnák and Ryan Sailor are the only other senior roster players with options due in 2027 (all the supplemental roster player players have options due at the end of the year).
Aside from those extensions, the other news was mostly about relatively minor roster designations: Hassani Dotson will count as a TAM player; Sailor is part of the senior roster; and Sebastian Gomez has been designated as an "off-roster" player, meaning the Sounders would need to use a short-term loan to play him. That leaves the Sounders with 18 of 20 senior roster spots filled and 8 of 10 supplemental spots filled.
