Inclement weather has followed the Seattle Sounders for most of their preseason trip to the Iberian Peninsula. For the most part, it’s been more of a mild annoyance than anything else.

But with significant rain falling on Wednesday and even more expected on Thursday, it’s at least possible that their two planned preseason matches could be canceled due to the fields being unplayable. That decision is due to be made around 8 AM Spanish time (or about 11 PM on Wednesday in Seattle).

Prior to the rain storm, the Sounders had been scheduled to play Swedish side Hammarby IF at 4 AM Seattle time and Ukrainian side Metalist 1925 at 7 AM with both matches set to be streamed on SoundersFC.com. As of Wednesday, the Sounders were instead planning to play two matches against Hammarby.

Sounder at Heart will provide updates as soon as they are available.
