The two sides played to a scoreless first half, but Snydre Brunell's halftime addition seemed to inject some life into the Sounders as they peppered Austin's goal with shots. But it was Austin who broke through first on a goal by Facundo Torres. They added a second goal on a Guilherme Biro strike before Stuart Hawkins pulled one back for the Sounders just before stoppage time.
