First the queen returned, and now Seattle Reign FC have announced that the King will be staying with the club, as they announced on Wednesday the signing of restricted free agent Tziarra King to a new contract through the 2024 season.

“This club and community have made me feel at home since the very beginning,” King said in a team release. “It’s such a fun and competitive environment here, so I’m proud to re-sign with the Reign for the 2024 season and can’t wait to join my teammates back on the field soon. Let’s get to work!”

King, who was selected 8th overall in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Utah, was acquired by the Reign in a trade ahead of the 2021 season. She has made 44 regular-season appearances to date for the Reign, scoring three goals and adding two assists, along with a goal and two assists in 14 Challenge Cup games. King was also named MVP of the 2022 The Women’s Cup tournament.

“Tziarra King returning to club is exciting news. Zee is still early in her career and we know with continued investment, she can be a player who consistently impacts games on both sides of the ball,” Reign General Manager Lesle Gallimore said in the team release.
