On the troubles in the final third today:

“Well, Raúl [Ruidíaz] had a couple of good looks, there was a cross late [with] Cody [Baker] and Danny Musovski. There was a play in the first half, Obed [Vargas] gets down in the prime assist zone, Raúl is sprinting to the near post, Jordan [Morris] is not getting in front of his guy. Cristian [Roldan] that shot that he takes goes over the bar, a cleaner first touch out in front of him he can hit it on frame, we need to get Albert [Rusnák] involved more. There were a few reasons – sloppy… I took Josh [Atencio] off he wasn’t feeling good, he’s a little under the weather, sick. He’s normally good for one or two chances. But we just didn’t get it done. I need the senior players, even though they’re tired, it was a long trip [to D.C. and Philadelphia], they need to persevere. And when those guys, I felt they couldn’t do it, we put a bunch of young guys on there and they provided some energy, but you have to balance that with quality. We’re going to work on it, and we will get it right.”

On how he looks at the game:

“I think we missed a good opportunity to win this game. But I think even [LA Galaxy] missing some key players, they are still a good roster, good team. But I think we need to look at us and try to improve. The reality is we need to be better.”

On the struggle to score today:

“I think that quality, that final shot, final pass. I know myself, I think I got into the prime assist zone but then I couldn’t connect that cross, I couldn’t give my teammate a chance to finish it and so I think that was lacked today, just that final touch inside the box. To put it on target, I think we had plenty of chances and we couldn’t put it on target and give us a chance to score. I think that’s what would have changed the game, one chance [and it’s] one-zero and it’s a win. It doesn’t have to be beautiful all the time.”
