Stuart Hawkins was named to the 24-player for a pair of upcoming friendlies in South America. The United States U19 team will play Argetina on June 7 in Buenos Aires and Chile on June 11 in Monte Video, Uruguay.

These are the final preparation matches ahead of the Concacaf U20 Championship that starts on July 19 when the USA plays Jamaica. The top four teams from that tournament will qualify for the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile.

This is Hawkins’ first call-up to the U19 team after he made 20 appearances for the U17s, which included four appearances at the U17 World Cup. That won Hawkins’ a MLS contract with the Sounders, with whom he made his first-team debut earlier this year in the U.S. Open Cup. He now has two appearances with the Sounders and six more with Tacoma Defiance this year.

Sounders teammates Reed Baker-Whiting and Obed Vargas were also apparently invited to the training camp, but declined as it would have required them to miss the match against Sporting KC on June 8.
