Seattle Reign FC welcome the Houston Dash to Lumen Field today for a Mother’s Day afternoon game. The Reign are looking to extend a three game unbeaten streak, while the Dash, under new head coach Fabrice Gautrat, are still honing their form, having won only one of their last five matches.

The Reign have faced the Dash 27 times across all competitions and hold a 18-5-4 advantage in the series, having scored 49 goals and conceded 20. That includes a 10-1-2 record at home. Last week the Reign defeated Kansas City Current 1-0 at home, while the Dash lost 2-1 to Racing Louisville at home.

Keys to the game

  • Keep the ball moving and avoid getting into 1v1 battles
  • Be patient if Houston wants to hold the ball in non-dangerous spots
  • Score multiple goals

Notes

  • Jess Fishlock and Nérilia Mondésir remain out with leg injures and are expected to miss a few more weeks. Ryanne Brown has resumed training but remains on the SEI list as she rebuilds fitness. Backup goalkeeper Cassie Miller joined the leg injury list this week, meaning rookie Maddie Prohaska will make the game-day roster for the first time.
  • The Mariners vs. Blue Jays series wrapped up today with a game at 1 PM at T-Mobile Park, so expect increased traffic and crowds in the neighborhood around the stadiums.
  • In honor of Mother’s Day, the Reign have brought over a dozen team moms to Seattle for the match. They will be celebrating them and honoring all mother figures at Cityside Bar before the match.
