After scoring at least two goals in every competitive match they’ve played this season, the Tacoma Defiance came crashing back to earth with a 5-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps 2 on Wednesday. The Defiance were missing several of their mainstays — including leading scorer Osaze De Rosario and leading defender Stuart Hawkins, who were both with the Seattle Sounders — and gave 17-year-old Mohammed Shour a rare start in goal. Shour actually came up with several big saves but was repeatedly left out to dry by a defense that surrendered many quality chances.
