The MLS Players Association released their 2025 salary guide on Wednesday, revealing that the Seattle Sounders’ spending on guaranteed compensation actually went up about 8% despite the departure of their highest paid player last year.

As a team, the Sounders once again rank right around the middle of MLS with a total guaranteed outlay of about $18 million. They actually moved up one spot from 15th in MLS to 14th.

Although there weren’t any massive signings since the last release of this data in September, there were 18 players who received raises this year. The biggest bump went to Jackson Ragen, who got a 463% raise and is now making more than $600,000 after signing a new contract last September. Other notable increases included Jordan Morris, who triggered a clause in his contract that made him a Designated Player and now makes more than $2.2 million. Albert Rusnák is now the team’s highest-paid player at nearly $2.6 million after signing a new contract last offseason.

Among new players, Ryan Kent is making just under $1 million; Kim Kee-hee is making the veteran minimum of $104,000; Jesús Ferreira took 17% cut to get below the DP threshold; and Paul Arriola took a 34% reduction (of which FC Dallas is still covering a significant portion). João Paulo reduced his salary by nearly 60% to return to the Sounders as well.
