Seattle Reign and midfielder Angharad “Haz” James-Turner have agreed to a two year contract extension, the club announced today. The Welsh international, who was set to become a free agent at the end of the year, is now signed through the 2027 NWSL season.
“I couldn’t be happier to continue my journey in Seattle,” said James-Tuner in a club release. “This club and this city have truly made it feel like home. I’ve grown so much here over the past two seasons, both on and off the pitch, and I’m excited to keep building with this incredible group.”
Haz was signed by the Reign ahead of the 2024 season, having played the previous two years with Tottenham of the Women’s Super League. Prior to her time at Tottenham, she played two seasons in the NWSL with the NC Courage and Orlando Pride after spending the first part of her professional career in England. After a debut season in Seattle where both James-Turner and the club overall struggled for consistency, both have found their footing in 2025. Haz is second on the club in successful tackles (22) this year and leads the league in tackle success rate, winning 81% of her attempts.

Haz is the kind of player every club wants, and we’re lucky to have her.”
Internationally, James-Turner just returned from captaining Wales at the UEFA European Championship, the country’s first major tournament, where she started all three games alongside Reign teammate Jess Fishlock.
