Leaked Sounders’ third kit pays homage to the past

A-League era about to get some shine.

For the first time since 2017, the Seattle Sounders will have a third kit. Like may of the third kits that have come out in the past couple of seasons around the league, theirs will be inspired by the past.

Note: Spoilers ahead!

Based on a leak at FootyHeadlines.com, the Sounders’ new kit is effectively an homage to the uniform they wore in 1994 when the name was reborn in the A-League. The original NASL Sounders folded in 1983.

In addition to having similar chest and arm patterns, the shirt will also make use of the Sounders’ wave wordmark. The crest will feature the new “Sammy” logo, as well. Both designs were first unveiled as part of the broader brand refresh that happened in 2023. Like other MLS kits from this line, the sponsor is on the back of the shirt.

Presumably this kit will be unveiled in time to be used for the Leagues Cup and is part of a line of clothing that will apparently include a jacket and shoes.
