In a game where the result seemed almost secondary, the Seattle Sounders were forced to settle for a 1-1 tie with the Columbus Crew on Sunday. On what turned out to be the game's final play, Stefan Frei took a knee to the head from Amar Sejdić while coming out to play free kick. Frei ended up leaving the field in an ambulance, but later posted on social media that he was home and recovering.
Before that, the Crew took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Diego Rossi and the Sounders equalized on a goal by Paul Rothrock. The best chance of the second half came when Albert Rusnák played in Rothrock, only for the shot to be right at goalkeeper Evan Bush.
