Seattle Reign are looking to snap a three-game winless streak as they welcome the San Diego Wave to Lumen Field tonight. Despite many teams above them in the standings stumbling in recent weeks and presenting an opportunity to move up the table, the Reign remain in 6th place after their own stumbles against some lower-ranked sides. A win tonight could briefly push the Reign as high as third, while a draw or loss could see them slip a spot depending on other results around the league.
Seattle have dominated the all-time series against the Wave, with a 9-1-2 record in all competitions and 18 goals scored with 7 conceded. That includes a perfect 5-0-0 record when hosting San Diego. Earlier this season, the Reign defeated the Wave on the road by a score of 2-1, with Sally Menti and Emeri Adames scoring.
Last weekend the Reign battled to a 1-1 road draw against the Houston Dash, while the Wave lost 1-0 at home to Racing Louisville despite dominating nearly every statistical category including a 72%-28% advantage in possession and 8-2 advantage in shots on target.

Keys to the game
- Look for wide space on counters
- Hold defensive shape while the Wave are in possession
- Stay strong in the 5 minutes after restarts
Notes
- Ana-Maria Crnogorčević and Hanna Glas are off the injury report and available for selection for the first time since the summer break. However, Lynn Biyendolo is newly added to the unavailable list – she has been dealing with a recurring knee issue that has limited her minutes, and the team has decided to fully rest her for a few weeks to see if they can get it under better control.
- Tonight is the club’s inaugural “First Match On Us” promotion, meaning there will be many first-time attendees in the stadium. Ticket sales overall have been brisk.
- There are no other events occurring in the stadium district, but today is also the first day of PAX West, so there may be extra congestion on public transit and in the downtown area.
