The Seattle Sounders set a host of records, demolishing reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winners Cruz Azul 7-0 on Thursday in Leagues Cup play. The seven goals tied the club record for most goals in a game and it set the MLS record for most goals scored in a single half, with all seven coming after halftime. It also marked the biggest blowout of a MLS team over a Liga MX team and set all sorts of Leagues Cup records.
This also marked the first time the Sounders have had six different goal-scorers, with Pedro de la Vega being the only one with two. There were also five players with at least one assist with Alex Roldan registering two and one being unassisted.
