It wasn't the cakewalk of their previous game, but the Seattle Sounders still got the job done with a 2-1 win over Santos Laguna in Phase One of Leagues Cup play on Sunday. The Sounders moved to the top of the MLS group standings with six points and a +8 goal-difference. They will likely need another result in the Phase One finale against Club Tijuana to secure advancement to the Knockout Phase.
Against Santos Laguna, the Sounders got an own-goal that was created by a Paul Rothrock cross and a spectactular strike from Georgi Minoungou.
