The 2025 NWSL Playoffs start tonight with a rematch of the final game of the regular season, Seattle Reign visiting the Orlando Pride. The two sides battled to a 1-1 draw in Orlando on Sunday afternoon, trading second-half goals by Carson Pickett and Jordyn Bugg to split the points and ultimately each slip one spot in the final standings to force a rematch in the quarterfinals.

The winner of this match will face the winner of Kansas City vs. Gotham in the semifinals next weekend. Should Gotham upset the Shield winners, either Orlando or Seattle will host, otherwise they are off to Missouri. The loser’s season will be done.

Keys to the game

  • Seize momentum early
  • Track far post runners
  • Get the midfield involved

Notes

  • The club is hosting an official watch party at Rough & Tumble in Ballard. The Royal Guard will be at Machine House Brewing in Hillman City, and other venues around the region which will be showing the game include Doyle’s (Tacoma), 3 Magnets Brewing (Olympia), Pitch The Baby (Capitol Hill), Ounces Taproom (West Seattle) and Ringers Pub (Mountlake Terrace).
  • If the match is tied at the end of 90 minutes, there will be two 15-minute extra time periods. Should the match still be tied at that point, it will be decided by a shootout.
  • The Reign injury report remains the same as last week, with the team about as healthy as possible aside from four long-term absences. For the Pride, Ally Watt and Summer Yates are newly out, while Simone Charley has been upgraded to questionable.
  • The Reign stayed in Orlando this week to train and to help them adapt to the time difference and climate, rather than travel cross-country four times in a ten-day span.
