Seattle Reign announced on Friday that they have signed NCAA champion goalkeeper Evan O’Steen from Florida State to a contract for the 2026 NWSL season. O’Steen joins as a U-18 signing and had previously trained with the Reign and USL Super League team Dallas Trinity in 2025.
“I’m honored to sign with Seattle Reign FC,” said O’Steen in a team release. “Training with the club provided me with a clear sense of the standards and culture here, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this incredible environment.”
O’Steen hails from Grapevine, TX and played club soccer for Solar SC, the same program which developed Sam Meza, Emeri Adames and Ainsley McCammon. She was ranked as one of the top goalkeepers in last year’s NCAA recruiting class and went on to play collegiately at FSU, who won the 2025 NCAA National Championship. As a freshman last season, O’Steen made two starts and four appearances overall for the Seminoles.
“We're pleased to welcome Evan O'Steen to Seattle,” said Reign General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “Evan is an exceptional young talent who has already demonstrated composure and quality beyond her years. At Reign FC, we take pride in helping players develop and reach their potential, and we’re excited to be part of Evan’s journey as she continues to grow as both a goalkeeper and a professional.”
Internationally, O’Steen has been involved in the US youth system as part of the two most recent US teams at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. In the 2024 tournament, where the US placed third, O’Steen was named Best Goalkeeper after recording four shutouts. She was also one of 42 players selected to US Soccer’s inaugural Women’s College Talent Identification Camp last summer and played for Reunion City Dallas in the TST 7v7 tournament in June.
