Seattle Reign FC announced on Wednesday that they have transferred goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska to Racing Louisville for $50,000, half as allocation money and half as intraleague transfer funds. That amount could increase if Prohaska meets certain performance incentives.

Prohaska was first signed by the Reign in 2025 after joining the team in preseason as a non-roster invitee. She made one appearance for the club, playing the full game and earning the win in a 2-1 victory over Urawa Red Diamonds in an international friendly match last summer. She also earned a call-up to the US U-23 women’s national team last June.

Heading to Racing will be a homecoming of sorts for Prohaska, who is from West Chester Township, Ohio, about two hours northeast of Louisville.

"I grew up driving past Lynn Family Stadium on the way to soccer tournaments from Ohio. So this is a full circle moment for me, getting the opportunity to call this field home and play in front of this amazing fan base," Prohaska said in a Racing press release.

In addition to being available to use in other trades within the NWSL, the Reign can apply the allocation money to reduce a player’s salary cap charge, while intraleague transfer funds can be applied to the team’s net transfer budget, which determines how much they can spend on transfer fees to acquire players from overseas.
