It’s been quite a journey getting IV — the Sounder at Heart magazine — from idea to publication. Last week, we put the final touches on things and shipped it off to the printer, finalizing our order quantity at the same time. By now, you’ve heard that the pre-sale is over and we’re selling issues of our inaugural magazine for $15.
But there is one more deadline we need to make you aware of: If you’re still planning to order IV and have it delivered to you before the season starts, we need you to submit that order ASAP – we need to give all shipping addresses to the printer by Wednesday at 9 AM at the latest. Orders that are received before then SHOULD get to your mailbox before the Seattle Sounders’ season opener on Feb. 22 (though with USPS being what it is, we can’t actually guarantee that, but we’ve at least received some assurances). Any order we receive after Thursday will need to be handled by the Sounder at Heart staff, which will both delay delivery and likely cost more (that’s the beauty of bulk mailings). We are also working on having a digital version available, which everyone who orders a physical copy will have access to and will be available to purchase by itself.
Of course, if you want to pick it up in person, that’s still an option. We’ll be having our magazine release party on Feb. 20 from 5-9 PM at Project 9 Brewing Co in the Maple Leaf neighborhood. Not only is there no delivery cost if you pick it up in person, but you’ll likely get to meet me as well as many of the other contributors, and there might even be a special guest.
Once again, thanks for all your support. We’re going to do our absolute best to make sure this gets into as many people’s hands before the season as is possible and we think the stuff we wrote will have a lifespan well beyond that. Enjoy!
