The Seattle Sounders are in the middle of a seven-game run of matches away from Lumen Field and will likely need to rotate their lineup against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.
To make matters worse, they are also dealing with a bit of an injury crisis that has hit several areas of the team and they will likely need to make some short-term loans to fill out the roster. Among those players is Antino Lopez, who is expected to get the start at centerback.

- This will be the first Heritage Cup match of the season, with the Sounders being the current holder. That was the ninth time in 17 years that the Sounders had won this trophy which honors both teams’ shared NASL history.
- This is the 43rd time the Sounders have played the Earthquakes in the MLS regular season, the most they’ve faced any opponent.
- The Sounders have 97 road wins in MLS play since 2009, 17 more than any other team during that stretch.
- The Earthquakes have won their first three games to start the season, the first time they’ve managed that.
- In addition to Lopez, Peter Kingston has also been called up on a short-term loan.
