The Seattle Sounders will get to host their leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals at Lumen Field, after all. Leg 1 against Liga MX side Tigres UANL will be on April 8 at Estadio Universitario with Leg 2 on April 15.
The Lumen Field leg will be played on grass that is currently in the process of being installed ahead of the 2026 World Cup. It will be the third match played at Lumen in the span of four days, with the Sounders hosting Real Salt Lake on April 12 and the United States Women's National Team playing Japan in a friendly on April 14.

There had been some questions about the temporary grass's ability to host so many matches in such a small span of time, but FIFA officials have apparently signed off on it in what would seem to be a vote of confidence in the technology. The grass is being laid on top of a base of 12-14 inches of sand and other materials, meaning it should behave pretty close to a standard grass pitch. As it is, there will now be at least 19 matches played on the temporary surface before it's expected to be removed in late July.
Given the uncertainty around how the grass will hold up under heavy use, FIFA has not guranteed that the Sounders would be able to host future CCC matches at Lumen Field. For now, though, the Sounders are giving season-ticket holders the opportunity to pre-purchase future games in their now standard "pay as we play" program. There will also be an exclusive season-ticket member presale on March 23 at 10 PM before tickets are made available to the public.
