One of the enduring themes of the Seattle World Cup experience has been the way it has dovetailed almost perfectly with urbanism. We’ve seen the way that Seattle Stadium’s downtown location has added to the entire experience, from the walkable neighborhood to the public transit access and the general sense that you are right in the middle of all the action.
To celebrate that confluence, we are partnering with fellow independent news outlet The Urbanist to host a party that just so happens to coincide with the World Cup Final on July 19 at Project 9 Brewing. In addition to watching some soccer, we’ll be discussing the role urbanism has played and will play in the future of the sport in Seattle. We’ll also have copies of IV: The Sounder at Heart magazine on hand in case you somehow haven’t purchased your copy yet.
