The last-place Chicago Stars FC will visit Seattle for their first match under a new coaching staff, following the announcement on Wednesday of the dismissal of Head Coach Martin Sjögren and Assistant Coach Anders Jacobson. Karina Báez will serve as interim head coach. The changes follow a scoreless draw against Bay FC on Sunday, which came after four straight losses for the Stars.
Reign FC will be keen to take advantage of the visitor's struggles after drawing with Angel City last week, leaving the two clubs tied on points. The goal differential tiebreaker favors ACFC, holding the Reign in ninth place, one spot out of playoff position.
These two clubs last met on August 18, 2025 at Lumen Field. It was an agonizing 3-3 draw for the Reign, who gave up all three goals after the 75th minute, including a goalkeeper goal by Alyssa Naeher. The all-time results are spread evenly, with the Reign tallying 11 wins, 12 losses, and 10 draws. The Reign haven't beaten the then-Red Stars since a 3-0 road shutout in October 2023.
