Seattle Reign today announced the signing of Ivorian forward Ami Diallo through the 2028 NWSL season. The Reign paid an undisclosed transfer fee to ASEC Mimosas to bring the 25-year-old forward to Seattle. Diallo is set to arrive in Seattle in the coming weeks, pending receipt of her P-1 visa.
“Ami is a dynamic attacking player who has already shown her ability to produce at a high level, and we believe she has tremendous potential to continue growing in our environment,” said Reign General Manager Lesle Gallimore in a team release. “She brings quality, athleticism and a competitive mentality to our group, and her experience competing on the international stage will serve her well as she makes the transition to the NWSL. We’re excited to welcome Ami to Seattle and help her take the next step in her career.”
Diallo comes to the Reign after helping ASEC Mimosas establish itself among the top clubs in African women’s soccer. During the 2025-26 domestic campaign, the forward scored 31 goals, second-most in the league, as ASEC captured its second consecutive Ivorian Division 1 championship.
Diallo also helped lead ASEC Mimosas to the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League final in the club’s first appearance in the competition. She recorded three goals and one assist across five matches, including a two-goal, one-assist performance against Gaborone United to book a spot in the semifinals.
Diallo also scored ASEC’s lone goal in the championship match against Moroccan side AS FAR, heading in a cross to equalize the match. The game eventually ended 2-1 after AS FAR earned and scored a second penalty. Diallo was named one of three finalists for the 2025 CAF Women’s Interclub Player of the Year award (Moroccan midfielder Sanaâ Mssoudy took home the award).
“I’m very excited to join Seattle Reign FC and begin this next chapter of my career in the NWSL,” said Diallo. “I’m looking forward to joining my new teammates, competing in a new league and giving everything I have for this club. I can’t wait to get to Seattle and meet the fans.”
ASEC Mimosas has been one of Africa's premier talent factories on the men's side, producing a wave of players who went on to major European careers, including Yaya Touré, Kolo Touré, Didier Zokora, and Emmanuel Eboué, to name a few. While their women's team is only four years old, thanks to players like Diallo, ASEC has already gone from Division 2 to back-to-back Division 1 titles and a trip to the CAF Women’s Champions League final.
At the international level, Diallo represents the Côte d’Ivoire Women’s National Team and was named to the country’s roster for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), coming on as a sub in the team's final two matches in the country's first WAFCON appearance in more than a decade. Côte d’Ivoire topped their group but fell 2-1 to Algeria in the knockout round. They lost by the same scoreline to Ghana in the next match, a WAFCON play-in round.
Diallo also helped Côte d’Ivoire win the 2026 Women's FIFA Series in April, scoring four goals against Turks and Caicos and one more against Pakistan. Her five goals marked the second-most in the tournament, finishing behind teammate Priscille Kreto, who had seven.
While it will be an adjustment for Diallo to play in the NWSL, it's clear that she has the speed and attacking instincts to make an impact for the Reign. She will likely be gradually integrated into the squad this year and will be held to higher expectations for the 2027 NWSL season. But the Reign can expect a player committed to helping her team in both the press and attack.
"You can expect commitment, hard work and leadership on the pitch. I will give everything for the team — whether that means scoring, defending or motivating my teammates," Diallo said in a CAF profile on her this spring.
