After a difficult two-game road trip last week which saw the team drop both results and fall below the playoff line, Seattle Reign will be looking to get back on the winning track when they welcome Boston Legacy to Lumen Field for an early Friday evening game. Thanks to some teams above them still having to face each other and upcoming games against NC and Utah, Seattle remains in control of its playoff fate, but every point is critical with only five games remaining.
The Reign and Legacy have met only once before, a 2-1 Seattle win in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in May. That game started the team’s current 16-game goal scoring streak. Sofia Huerta and Maddie Dahlien scored for the Reign, while Aïssata Traoré got a late consolation goal for Boston.
Last weekend the Reign fell 2-1 on the road at Denver, while the Legacy lost 2-1 to Houston in Pawtucket. The Legacy would be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss today.

Notes
- With the exception of Lynn Biyendolo, everyone on the Reign roster is fit and healthy – a remarkable occurrence in Seattle sports this year.
- Sam Meza is on a yellow-card accumulation warning. If she picks up one more caution, she will be suspended for the next game.
- Tonight’s game is Fourth Wing night, with special crossover merchandise available in-stadium and some themed menu items named after the book series available at vendors around the concourse.
- There is a concert at WAMU Theater at 7 PM and a Mariners home game at 7:10 PM. While crowds entering and exiting the other events should not significantly overlap with the Reign game, expect parking to be at a premium.
