The Seattle Sounders have a potential playoff preview tonight when they visit FC Dallas. The Sounders could potentially move into the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference with a win, while FC Dallas currently sit in the No. 3 spot.
The Sounders come into the game as one of the hottest teams in the West, having won four straight and going unbeaten in nine. Their most recent game was a 3–0 win over the New England Revolution, who had started the match week as the No. 2 team in the Eastern Conference.
Dallas had been riding a six-game unbeaten streak of their own, but blew a 2–0 lead on the road against Charlotte FC on Wednesday. Dallas have yet to lose at home since returning from the World Cup break, going 3–0–1 in that span.
Notes
- The Sounders beat FC Dallas 2–1 in their earlier meeting this year. They are 5–7–7 at FC Dallas in the regular season.
- The Sounders won their 100th road game since entering MLS on Saturday. No team has reached 100 road wins faster since 2009.
- Albert Rusnák picked up two assists to move into the MLS season lead with 14. He’s now two assists away from tying the Soundrs’ single-season club record, which is currently held by him (2024) and Nicolas Lodeiro (2018).
