The Seattle Sounders will attempt to win their fourth straight game for the first time this season when they visit the New England Revolution tonight. The Sounders carry an eight-game unbeaten streak into the match, during which they have moved up from 14th in the Western Conference to seventh, just three points out of sixth.
The Revolution sit second in the Eastern Conference, a notable turnaround after they had missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons. They are led by Carles Gil (12 goals, four assists) on offense and goalkeeper Matt Turner (9.0 goals prevented).
This will be a significant test for the Sounders, whose three-game winning streak came against teams below them in the standings. This is the first game in a season-ending stretch in which 5 of the 7 games will be against teams in playoff positions.
Notes
- This will be just the second time the Sounders have played at Gillette Stadium since Brian Schmetzer took over as head coach in July 2016. Their last trip to Gillette was in 2018.
- The Sounders have 99 road wins during their MLS era, the most in the league since 2009.
- Cristian Roldan is two goals away from 50. He would be just the third player in Sounders history to reach 50 goals and 50 assists across all competitions.
