Three in a row. Your Seattle Sounders would be “heating up*” if this were NBA Jam. Seattle hosted Sporting Kansas City on Thurday night, and despite new guy André Luiz putting the bad guys up at the end of the first half, the Sounders persevered. First, it was Jordan Morris breaking away, getting pulled down, and still somehow laying a ball off for substitute Sebastian Gomez to slam home past former Sounder Stef Cleveland. Seattle’s second came via Morris again, and the industrious work of Cristian Roldan. Roldan played the initial pass from inside his own box, then sprinted the length of the pitch to make sure Morris’ pass deflected off of him and in.
Rate your Sounders on the continuation of their winning streak.
*I looked it up. Two consecutive made shots is “heating up,” three is “on fire.” So, in this tortured metaphor where made baskets equal wins, the Sounders are now “on fire.”
