OL Reign announced on Friday that Jordyn Huitema will remain with the club through the 2024 season. Both the player and club agreed to mutually exercise Huitema's contract option for next year.

“I’m so excited to stay in Seattle and continue playing for this club,” Huitema said in a team release. “Being able to train and play in such a highly competitive environment daily has helped me develop as a professional, so I’m really looking forward to what next year brings.”

Huitema joined OL Reign during the 2022 NWSL season in June after spending three seasons with Paris Saint-Germain. The 22-year-old forward had a strong start to the 2023 season with OL Reign before departing for the FIFA Women's World Cup – scoring seven goals in all competitions, including five in the regular season. She'll be looking to close out the season strong as the Reign push for the NWSL Shield and playoffs.

“OL Reign is elated to have Jordyn’s contract extended through 2024 as we’ve already seen her develop a great deal in a short amount of time,” said Reign general manager Lesle Gallimore. “She is a player whose ability and eagerness to continue to improve will benefit the club greatly in all ways.”

Huitema had two goals and two assists in her 10 games for OL Reign in 2022. Joining PSG right out of high school, the Chilliwack native made 71 appearances and scored nine goals across all competitions in France – helping PSG win the Division 1 Féminine title over Lyon in 2021.

Huitema has earned 67 caps (26 starts) with the Canada Women’s National Team, scoring 16 goals and earning six assists during that time. She helped Canada win the Olympic gold medal in 2021 and appeared in consecutive Women’s World Cups in 2019 and 2023.
