The Welsh Dragon will be with OL Reign for 2024, with the club announcing on Tuesday that Jess Fishlock’s contract option for next season has been exercised. The Reign original has been with the club since their inaugural season in 2013 and is one of only two players in league history, along with teammate Lu Barnes, to have made at least 175 regular-season appearances for one club. She is also the only player in league history to have scored in all 10 NWSL regular seasons.

“We still have work to do this season, but I’m happy to share that I’m coming back for another year,” said Fishlock in a team release. “This city and our fans have shown so much love over the years throughout my career, so it’s only right to keep the party going!”

In her Reign career, Fishlock has scored 41 goals and added 24 assists, both second in club history and in the top-10 in league history. She has earned Best XI honors five times and Second XI twice more, as well as being named league MVP in 2021.

“From day one, Jess has been the epitome of a true professional, leader and competitor for our club,” said head coach Laura Harvey in a team release. “Her voice in the locker room, presence on the field and overall energy will continue to push us to perform at the highest level through 2024.”
