Seattle Reign FC announced two additional preseason friendlies on Thursday, with one of the two matches open to the general public.

The club will visit Montlake to face the UW Huskies on March 6 at 7 PM. That match will take place at Husky Soccer Stadium and is open to the public, with tickets available for $10. Half the proceeds will directly support the UW Women’s Soccer program.

The Reign roster features several UW alumni – Olivia Van der Jagt, Shae Holmes and McKenzie Weinert are all signed, while draft pick Makena Carr played her first three collegiate seasons for the Huskies. Additionally, Reign general manager Lesle Gallimore was UW’s longtime coach, having led the team when they faced the Reign in numerous preseason friendlies in years past.

Three days later, the Reign will wrap up their preseason friendlies with a trip to Portland to face the Thorns at Providence Park on March 9. That game kicks off at 3 PM PT and will be held behind closed doors.  As of now, neither match is expected to be broadcast.

Final 22-26-player rosters must be set by March 13; as of now the Reign have 25 players under contract, with two of those players away on loan until July and not counting toward the roster limit.  Seattle Reign FC kicks off the 2024 NWSL regular season on March 17 when they host the Washington Spirit at Lumen Field at 3 PM PT.
