Ballard FC will play an international friendly match against Chivas U23, the reigning Liga MX Apertura U23 winners. The game is set for June 4 at 7:00 PM at Memorial Stadium. Antonio Herrera of the Tacoma Defiance is currently on loan to Chivas U23’s and could potentially feature in the match.

With its history and notable success in Mexican football, Chivas U23 will pose a real challenge for the Ballard side and should give the club a sense of their standing in the larger soccer landscape in North America.

“We’re absolutely thrilled for the chance to compete against Chivas U23 in this friendly. It’s an incredible opportunity for our players to test themselves against an internationally recognized team and for Seattle’s sports enthusiasts to enjoy high-quality soccer,” Sam Zisette, Co-Founder and President of Ballard FC said in a press release.

Tickets for the friendly between Ballard FC and Chivas U23 are on sale now online via the Ballard FC website and have also been added to the season ticket package.

Ballard FC’s 2024 USL2 campaign kicks off on May 19 against the Tacoma Stars away from home. The first home game of the season will be on May 24 at Memorial Stadium against the newly formed Midlakes United from Bellevue.
