With Lobbing Scorchers' last U.S. Open Cup live show ending up as a resounding success with fewer technical difficulties than anticipated, we're going back on Tuesday evening as the Tacoma Defiance go after an opportunity of a lifetime against the Portland Timbers' first team at Starfire Sports.
This time we'll be joined by Sounder at Heart overlord Jeremiah Oshan and a special guest who we'll reveal from on location. We'll be at Watershed Pizza starting around 5 PM, do our show, and hang out with/take questions from the audience, then head into the stadium to watch the match.
Regardless of how the match turns out, this type of game will provide some great experience for the young up-and-comers in Seattle's youth program. There's no substitute for playing in this type of environment, in an elimination game, against your club's most heated rival. The experience and physical size gap between the players will be substantial.
But you honestly never know what can happen at Starfire. If things break the right way, we might just witness another slice of Open Cup history.
