FULLTIME: The Sounders are heading back to the Leagues Cup final after beating the LA Galaxy 2-0 on Wednesday. They will host Inter Miami on Sunday at 5 PM. Tickets are already on sale.
GALAXY 0, SOUNDERS 2: After missing two wonderful chances, Osaze De Rosario made up for those with an amazing solo effort in which he won a ball in the box, rainbowed one defender and then split two more defenders before putting a shot in off the far post.
That was FILTHY, Osaze 😮💨

GALAXY 0, SOUNDERS 1: Pedro de la Vega got back onto the scoresheet slamming home a rebound off a Jesús Ferreira shot. The chance was really created, though, when Paul Rothrock chased down Osaze De Rosario’s rebound, setting up Ferreira for a shot whose shot was saved only for de la Vega to swoop in.
Our No. 10 🇦🇷 Pepo hammers it home to give us the early lead!

The Seattle Sounders will be attempting to qualify for their first final since 2022 when they face the LA Galaxy in the Leagues Cup semifinal. Although just three years long, this qualifies as their longest stretch between finals appearances since Adrian Hanauer took over the Sounders in 2002.
The Sounders and Galaxy have been arguably the two best teams in Leagues Cup up until this point. Both teams are 3-0-1, with the Sounders beating Puebla in a shootout and the Galaxy falling to Cruz Azul in a shootout. The Sounders have outscored their Leagues Cup opponents 11-2, while the Galaxy have outscored theirs 13-4.
That’s really where the similarities in their seasons stop, though. The Sounders have been one of the league’s best teams since early April, going 11-4-5 over their past 20 games in MLS play. Only the Philadelphia Union are averaging more than their 1.90 points per game in that span.
The Galaxy, on the other hand, are mired at the bottom of the Supporters’ Shield standings and are on pace to post the worst MLS Cup defense in league history.
At the end of tonight’s game, one of these teams will have already punched a ticket for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup as well as earned the right to host the Leagues Cup final on Sunday.
Notes
- This will be the second of three meetings between these teams in the span of a month.
- The Galaxy are the host of this match thanks to winning MLS Cup last year, which gave them hosting rights throughout this tournament.
- If the score is tied at the end of regulation, the match will go straight to a penalty shootout.
- Danny Musovski is suspended for this game after being red carded in the quarterfinals.
