It has been nearly four months since the Seattle Sounders last won a league game. Facing a Red Bull New York opponent who is actually below them in the Supporters’ Shield race, this is probably the Sounders’ best chance to snap that skid for at least a few more weeks.
Bolstering their hopes is a host of players returning to full fitness and the newly acquired Caden Clark, who should be available off the bench after being acquired in a trade with D.C. United just before the end of the summer transfer window. A week after coming off the bench, Cristian Roldan, Jordan Morris and Hassani Dotson should all be available for longer run-outs and Paul Arriola is also available.
Red Bull have not won in Seattle since 2010 and have not even earned a point since 2013.

- Dejan Joveljić is coming off a two-goal debut. He’s just the second player in Sounders history to score a brace in his first match with the team, joining Fredy Montero.
