Stefan Frei has re-signed with the Seattle Sounders, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The contract is for two years, mirroring the deal he signed in 2021. Other terms were not yet available.

The 37-year-old recently passed Osvaldo Alonso for the most appearances across all competitions in Sounders history, having joined the team ahead of the 2014 season. During that time, he’s also charged up the MLS all-time list in most goalkeeper categories. Most notably, he’s currently third on the all-time list for career regular-season shutouts (105) and is now tied for second for most career playoff shutouts (13). He’s also second all-time in goalkeeper playoff wins (19).
